11.00am Morning Worship at Christ Church
(Note – No Benefice Service this month)

Written by Fran Valentine…..
All Age Worship
It was lovely to see the church so full will all ages at both Christingle services. I found it very moving, as did my two young granddaughters, when the congregation sang Away in a Manger, in the darkened , candlelit church.
I felt a pang of nostalgia for the Family services, now called All Age worship, when it was a more common occurrence to see parents and grandparents attending with their children than it is now. I have always enjoyed the Family Service which complemented the Sunday School activities and learning that took place prior to the service, under the guidance of Dorothy. It was, and still is a relaxing and comfortable way to introduce children, and all ages, to the church.
Why not come along and take up the opportunity to participate in this monthly service where all can learn the benefit of the role of our wonderful church in this community. The service, usually conducted by Dorothy, incorporates stories, hymns and prayers and activities in which children and adults, may participate in performing in front of our attentive and grateful congregation. This is a fun way for young people to gain confidence in a friendly environment where no one is ever put under pressure to perform.
Why not support your local church, where all are assured of a warm welcome, a drink and a biscuit and if you are
lucky, a piece of cake.
All Age Worship services are the first Sunday in each month at 11am. The next one being 3rd of March at Christ Church Barkisland. We would love to see you!
